Mismatch between “Expected Uplink Interval” and Dashboard active device count

Viewed 8

Hi there,

I’m seeing a discrepancy between the Expected Uplink Interval defined in the Device Profile and the number of “active devices” shown in the Dashboard.

For example:

In the Device Profile I set Expected uplink interval = 3600 seconds.

However, in the Dashboard the number of active devices does not match what I see in Applications → Last seen.

Devices that should be considered inactive after 3600 s are still counted as active for up to ~1800 seconds more.

It looks like the Dashboard is applying an additional tolerance window (around +50%) on top of the configured interval, but I cannot find documentation explaining this behavior.

My questions:

Is this tolerance intentional and part of the expected logic?

Is the Dashboard using a different formula than the Device Profile setting?

Is there a way to make the Dashboard use the exact Expected Uplink Interval without extra margin?

Thanks in advance.
