Devices re-join unless power cycled / intermittently go on and off

Is there any configurations that are worth taking a look at in the chirpstack.toml and the region_us915_1.toml for my chirpstack LNS?
We run RAK7268v2 gateways configured as Packet Forwarder using the mwtt for chirpstack v4.x protocol
And milesight end devices.
We notice some devices get stuck on a join accept, suddenly drop the network and dont rejoin unless power cycled, or just intermittently go on and off.

We are US Based US915_1
I am not sure what else to add to this summary but feedback will be much appreciated.

What I have observed in the past is that in some scenarios a gateway is able to receive the device fine, but the other way around the message gets lost because the downlink link-margin is not equal to the uplink.

This might be something to validate if this is the case. E.g. ChirpStack might increase the data-rate which is fine for uplink, but breaks the downlinks.

The above does assume the downlink is sent by the gateway (which can be verified by looking at the logs and using a spectral scanner).
